MUSCAT: A first cohort comprising 30 specialists graduated from the National Cybersecurity Leadership Programme on Saturday.

The graduation ceremony was held under the auspices of Mulham bin Bashir al Jarf, Vice-Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA).

The two-year programme aims to develop and empower 100 national cybersecurity professionals to enhance the Sultanate of Oman’s readiness to meet the growing cybersecurity challenges.

This initiative, which aims to prepare the next generation of national cybersecurity experts in the Sultanate of Oman, is part of the efforts of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and contribute to building a secure, competitive, and innovation-driven digital ecosystem based on world-class national expertise.

The two-year programme aims to enhance decision-making capabilities, improve organisational resilience, and raise the level of cybersecurity competence at the national level. The programme is a strategic initiative aimed to develop national cadres in this field to meet the sector’s growing demands.

National cybersecurity experts will be selected from government entities and vital sectors. The programme contributes to building a national community of skilled professionals equipped with the experience, strategic vision, and capabilities necessary to protect critical digital infrastructure and enhance national cyber resilience.

Developed in collaboration between OTC and PwC Middle East, the programme aims to accelerate digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman and enhance national efforts to build an innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy.

The participants will benefit from a comprehensive learning journey that combines executive education, realistic cybersecurity crisis simulations, peer collaboration, and strategic leadership interaction. — ONA
